ORGANIZATION ISKAR

ORGANIZATION ISKAR

The Iskar Organization is a faction tailored for LARP players by LARP designers.

Role-playing interactions are a cornerstone of Razor Wire. This year, we’re introducing a dedicated faction that focuses on the quintessential aspects of LARP - immersing oneself in a character and collaboratively crafting a narrative.

As a member of “Iskar,” you assume the identity of a Balgian citizen entangled in an underground organization with its own agenda. Little is known about Iskar, other than its past efforts to aid a politically significant Dursian fugitive, which subsequently entangled it in local drug trafficking and internal strife. Iskar is not recognized as a terrorist group, though its objectives are undeniably political. To preserve a realistic veil of secrecy, only those registered in this faction will receive further details before the game.

Participating as an Iskar member merges the thrill of LARP with the tangible challenges of the simulation. As an operative, you will:

  • Receive a pre-written LARP character to portray and develop, complete with a backstory, motivations, objectives, and interpersonal connections.
  • Collaborate with allies on espionage-related missions, choosing your methods for task completion.
  • Navigate challenging terrains within a zone of active military conflict.
  • Engage with individuals from other factions, either concealing your true allegiance and objectives or adopting alternate personas.
  • Face tough moral choices and deal with the repercussions of your actions.

Q&A

How fit do I need to be? Is the game too physically challenging?

Razor Wire is not a race of endurance; you won’t be expected to cover vast distances like, for example, the fugitives. However, you should be prepared to walk for several hours across uneven terrain.

Will we have our own camp?

While you will have access to your own camp, you are free to camp with one or several other factions, or make other strategic decisions about spending the night.

Can we carry replicas? Will we be engaging in active combat?

In a war-torn setting, non-combatants bearing arms are at greater risk. While not forbidden, carrying large weapon replicas (such as assault rifles) is discouraged. A smaller weapon replica may be advisable. Faction gameplay does not involve large-scale combat scenarios.

What happens if my character dies?

Then they die. Surviving is one the win conditions for this faction. Should your character meet their demise, you have the option to continue playing as a new character or join another faction, provided prior arrangements are in place.

How should I be dressed?

Camouflage uniforms should be avoided unless you aim to blend in with military personnel. Opt for comfortable footwear, long pants, and a jacket suitable for nighttime conditions.

What should I bring?

Participants must bring safety glasses (mandatory), a phone, and an orange cap or vest for marking hits. Additionally, camping gear for overnight stays is necessary.
